CHAPTER ONE

Savannah Gentleman’s Club

I always felt excited when I would see him come into the club. I had just moved to Savannah, Georgia from Ohio and I was quickly in love with the southern enchantment of the place. I found a job as a waitress at a gentleman’s club that resembled the parlors of the old days. This was not a strip club by any means; it was an elegant establishment with lush furnishings and modest entertainment. There were card tables, a few billiard tables, and cigars and brandy. The parlor had not changed since the Civil War. It was my second day on the job when I first saw him. He was a gorgeous older man and I was immediately drawn to him. My life, so far had been a complete mess and I felt like I was whirling out of control each day. I think this was why an older man always caught my attention. There was something about them that made me feel safe. This man was no exception.

I watched as he walked down the aisle to his seat in his dark gray suit. His shoulders were broad, his dark locks of hair casually fell over his green eyes, and his full lips were soft and a pale pink. He had a manly scent to him that drove me crazy.

I walked down the aisle in my club uniform with my brown hair pulled into an elegant side sweeping hairstyle. I had bright red lipstick on my full lips and fishnet stockings with shiny patent leather black heels. My tight pressed white shirt tucked neatly into my high waisted shorts. I looked more like a cigarette girl from the 1940s. I was pleasantly asking the patrons if they would like a drink and as I got closer to the attractive older man I began to get nervous. I was always nervous around attractive men. I was never good with them.

“Would you like a drink sir?” I said to him.

He looked up at me and gave me a knowing smile. His grin was captivating.

“Of course,” he said in a thick southern accent. “Do you think I can get a brandy and a cigar?”

“Yes, sir. I’ll bring it right over.”

“Thank you,” he said.

I could feel his eyes on me as I walked away and I felt myself getting aroused by his attention toward me. I did like it. I did my best to concentrate on my job through out the night, but it wasn’t easy.

I handed the man a brandy and a cigar. “Here you are sir.”

“It’s Reginald. Please call me Reginald,” he said winking at me.

I nodded and walked away. He made me feel excited when he looked at me. I was nervous and had butterflies in my stomach. It was arousing and exciting. When the place was closing he came up to me and put his hand on my back. It felt good. His hand felt warm even through my waitress uniform. He smiled at me and said, “Until next time.
